Can't stop it- It's coming

Every year it is the same thing, I want to enjoy one holiday at a time. Thanksgiving is about a week away and the family will be having Thanksgiving at our house. I really can not wait. However on the back of my mind are Christmas Cards. I really need to get them started.

Here is one I did it is from the Wishes book- it is card 4 from the Just Because workshop.

Get Ready for Christmas- 48 days left

48 days until Christmas

I used Moon Doogie paper pack... Can you believe that? Usually this is used for summer beach scrapbook pages or summer birthday cards. I used it for Christmas.

I used the template of card 2 out of the Celebration workshop in Jeanette Lynton's book, WISHES.

I used Desert Sand card stock for my 6 x 6 card base.
Cranberry card stock 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 with 3 white brads.
3 x 3 1/2 Leaf B&T paper from Moon Doogie.
1 1/2 circle out of the surf board paper from Moon Doogie.
I used hemp to wrap around and tie it all together.

oh and glitter glue- LOVE this stuff.

Future Cheerleaders?

These pictures were taken on October 4th. My family was celebrating my 37th birthday. I still can not believe I am 37. Even more than that I can not believe Michael is 17, Olivia is 15 and Evan is 14.

No, I don't think any of them will be cheerleaders in the near future.

Another card I was asked to make... something to do with Golf. I am not a golfer so I don't have any golf stamps or paper. This was the card I came up with. I love the window..

Polka Dot- Birthday Card

Rose (from the previous birthday) asked me to make Deanna (another co-workers) birthday card. I wanted to make the birthday with Pink and Brown...I just needed to come up with a design. I decided on polka dots and I loved how it all came together. (even the inside)

Hammer and Nails- Birthday card

I had seen somewhere that if you hammer brads and flatted out the head, they look like nails. So I cut paper to make planks and attached 2 brads to each side and Hammered and Hammered..

My Dad's birthday card came out like this.

Flower Celebration Card

I made this card to be a Birthday card, but it didn't fit the person I made it for. So I had it sitting around not finished. WHEN....I had an idea. I liked how it came out and my parent's Anniversary was right around the corner. So I made it a "Happy Anniversary" card by stamping the inside.

Birthday Cake- Card

I had seen this card done as a Wedding Congratulations card with a Wedding cake. I wanted to try it, but I didn't know anyone getting married, so I thought...Birthday Card. My Aunt in-law Sharla was the lucky person that received it. I thought it turned out cute.

Birthday Olivia and Michael

Birthday Cards- My niece and nephew are both July birthdays. I can not believe they are already 15 and 17 years old. They are growing up so fast. I had the perfect stamps for them.

Olivia- My niece is now 15. I remember that is was forever before she had a full head of hair and when she was 2 in her pretty dresses. She even took a season of dance classes. Now she is 15 ready to start driving and wants her very own cell phone. I loved how the stamps coordinated with her growing up.

Michael- My nephew is 17 years old. The stamps didn't quite go as well, but I wanted to still capture the growing up of Michael. The only stamp that reminded me of Michael was the little boy with his hands in his pockets. When Michael was about 2 until 4 years old, I remember if he had pockets in his shorts, pants.. his hands were in them. He was the cutest little man.

Rose's Birthday Card

July is Birthday month- I am busy making Birthday cards. I was asked to make a Birthday card for Rose, one of my co-workers. I decided to use some of my "old" teacher bulletin board letters. I traced the R and cut it out.... Then I need to find something to make the circle of the R.

Here is how it turned out~

Rose loved the card, in fact she asked me to make a couple of Birthday cards for her to give away.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th! Here were the Invitations I created this year. They were VERY easy to make. I printed them out on the computer and then cut and pasted them together. Completed it with a bow and done.

Hope your Holiday is great and safe.

Henry Doorly Zoo

As I mentioned last month, you will be seeing more zoo pictures. Patrick and I went with my parents on Sunday March 15 for 3 hours. It was a great time. No, we did not see all the animals, I really believe it would take 8 full hours of walking around the zoo to see everything.

The last few months I have had a cold that would not go away. Finally I am all better, however I have been quite busy.

Besides the zoo, I also had the opportunity to make and sale 60 baby shower invitations for a co-worker. They turned out just adorable. Once I have a picture of them, I will post.

This week I am working on samples of the Sour Cream container and basket I am doing for the upcoming gathering on Saturday. I will post those pictures later as well.

Below you will see more Zoo pictures.

March

Close to My Heart has a really neat Stamp of the Month this month. It is Butterflies. Check it out on the side bar. Butterflies make me think of Spring and the first day of Spring will be here soon. Below is a picture I took at the Henry Doorly Zoo.

Zoo

Today Patrick and I went to Henry Doorly Zoo today. Both of us have grown up going to this Zoo, if you live in or near Omaha and have never gone to Henry Doorly Zoo, I encourage you to tour this Zoo. Whether it is in the middle of Winter or Summer the Zoo is open.

This was Patrick and I first visit during the cold season. We still have a great time. We toured the Lied Jungle (which during the summer can be too hot... but today it warmed us up).

One of my favorite places at the Zoo, is the Cat Complex, it was closed due to re-modeling however some of the cats were outside.

Since Patrick and I have a Zoo pass this year, I bet you will see more Zoo pictures and Zoo scrapbook pages.

Moonlight

Today was one of those lovely evenings. My husband, Patrick turned 37 today and it was about 50 degrees...for Nebraska in February that was fantastic! By the time evening came, the moon was so bright, it lit up the sky.

I volunteer to make birthday cards at work, this is for one of the girls on my team. I just loved how it came out. The colors are sponged on.

A Warm January Day

Today was 52 degrees. It was beautiful. It made me think of the day I went to the Zoo with my in-laws and Aunt/Uncle in law and the grandchildren.

I knew as soon as I left work, I wanted to come home and scrapbook those pictures.

Aly and Celeste were great models that day, everyone was in an excellent mood. It was great scrapping those pictures, I remembered it like it was yesterday and not last October.

I am glad I got this done...since tomorrow it is suppose to be cold again. Maybe even SNOW this weekend.
